NORTH KINGSTOWN — A North Kingstown man faces two felony drug charges following a month-long, undercover investigation that resulted in his arrest last Tuesday.
Police allege that Corbin Buckey, 22, of 43 Yorktown Road, North Kingstown, sold both cocaine and marijuana to an undercover police officer.
“We had been receiving information that possible dealing was coming from the residence. So we had an undercover police officer get introduced to the situation and over the month’s time completed numerous sales,” said Det. Lt. Robert Desjarlais.
Buckey is charged with one felony count each of delivery of cocaine and delivery of marijuana. He has a prior criminal record that includes minor offenses.
“We arrested Buckey without incident and a search of the residence was found negative. Buckey did however have a small amount of marijuana on him so in addition to the two felony counts, he has also been charged with possession of marijuana,” added Desjarlais.
Buckey was arraigned in Fourth District Court last Wednesday, where he was held without bail. A bail hearing was scheduled for yesterday and a screening date is scheduled for March 4. |
